Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial aspects of our studio. This role involves overseeing the studio's financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and compliance with legal financial requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of financial regulations and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting transactions and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Prepare budget forecasts, financial reports, and statements to provide a clear financial picture to the management team.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings with accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage and process payroll, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payments.
- Conduct detailed reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.
- Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to improve financial performance.
- Provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.
- Work with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Develop systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an accountant, auditor, or financial officer.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant discipline; a CPA or CMA is highly preferred.
