Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Previs Artist to join our dynamic team. This role involves creating detailed previsualizations that help visualize complex scenes and sequences before they go into full production. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cinematography, animation timing, and storytelling, with the ability to translate script scenes into dynamic visual content.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed previsualizations based on the scripts and directorial notes, which include blocking out animation sequences, camera positioning, and early stage lighting.
- Work closely with directors, storyboard artists, and other members of the creative team to refine visual concepts and narrative sequences.
- Use animation software to build quick mock-ups of sequences that will be further refined by the animation team.
- Ensure that previs sequences are creatively inspiring and technically feasible within the constraints of the production schedule and budget.
- Provide multiple versions of sequences for review, demonstrating different approaches or variations as requested by the director or creative team.
- Maintain a clear line of communication with all departments to ensure that the previs work aligns with ongoing production needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Previs Artist or in a similar role within the animation or film industry.
- Strong skills in animation and previsualization software such as Maya, Unreal Engine, or similar.
- Excellent understanding of cinematic techniques, including camera work, lighting, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to interpret and visualize script pages and directorial vision with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
