Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Environment Designer to join our creative team. This role involves creating detailed and immersive environments that enhance the storytelling and visual impact of our animation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to design environments that are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally coherent within the worlds of our narratives.
Responsibilities:
- Design a variety of environments that fit within the project's narrative, including natural landscapes, urban settings, and fantastical realms.
- Collaborate with directors, art directors, and other design team members to ensure environmental designs support the overall visual storytelling of the project.
- Create detailed sketches and full-color renderings of environments for review and integration into the production pipeline.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative ideas for environments that enhance narrative and character interaction.
- Provide technical drawings and specifications for 3D modelers to ensure accurate realization of environments in the animation process.
- Adapt and refine environmental designs based on feedback from the creative team to meet artistic and production standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Environment Designer, demonstrated by a strong portfolio of work that showcases a variety of environmental designs.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya, or similar tools used for creating detailed environment concepts.
- Excellent understanding of perspective, color, lighting, and architectural design.
- Strong artistic vision with an ability to translate conceptual ideas into visually compelling environments.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate remotely with a team.
