Job Description:
We are looking for a talented Story Editor to join our creative team. This role involves collaborating with writers, directors, and other stakeholders to develop, edit, and refine the narratives of our animation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of storytelling, a keen understanding of narrative structure, and the ability to enhance scripts to better fit the visual and thematic goals of the studio.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with scriptwriters and directors to develop and refine storylines and scripts.
- Edit scripts for clarity, structure, and alignment with the project's creative vision.
- Provide constructive feedback to writers, helping to enhance character development, dialogue, and pacing.
- Ensure that scripts meet the studio's standards for quality and creativity.
- Collaborate with the animation team to ensure that the script aligns with production capabilities and constraints.
- Maintain continuity throughout the narrative, ensuring consistency in characters and plot development.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and story meetings to contribute creative ideas and solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Story Editor or similar role in the animation, film, or television industry.
- Strong understanding of scriptwriting and editing, with a solid grasp of narrative techniques and character development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creativity and passion for storytelling, with a commitment to enhancing the narrative quality of projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Creative Writing, Literature, or a related field is preferred.
